Posse Foundation

I had a great time today down at the New York Posse Foundation....this is what I learned:

The Posse Foundation will be asking College Advisors to nominate students this spring.
I.C.E. will only be able to nominate 6 students.

Posse is looking for  students "with extraordinary academic and leadership potential to
become Posse Scholars.  These students--many of whom might have been overlooked by traditional
college selection processes--receive four-year, full-tuition leadership scholarships from Posse's partner institutions."

The Posse New York Partner Colleges & Universities are:

Babson College located in Babson Park, Massachusetts   www.babson.edu

Brandeis University located in Waltham, Massachusetts    www.brandeis.edu

Colby College located in Waterville, Maine   www.colby.edu

Depauw University located in Greencastle, Indiana    www.depauw.edu

Dickinson College located in Carlisle, Pennsylvania   www.dickinson.edu

Franklin & Marshall College located in Lancaster, Pennsylvania     www.fandm.edu

Lafayette College located in Easton, Pennsylvania        www.lafayette.edu

Lawrence University located in  Appleton, Wisconsin     www.lawrence.edu

Middlebury College located in Middlebury, Vermont    www.middlebury.edu

Trinity College located in Hartford, Connecticut     www.trincoll.edu

University of Southern California located in Los Angeles, California    www.usc.edu

University of Wisconsin-Madison located in Madison, Wisconsin   www.wisc.edu

Vanderbilt University located in Nashville, Tennessee     www.vanderbilt.edu

Wheaton College located in Norton, Massachusetts    wheatoncollege.edu

Students must be willing to go away to college.  Students must also be willing to commit to the weekly Posse meetings.
If a student moves into the second and third round of Posse they will be asked to sign an Early Decision agreement, which means--
if admitted that decision is binding.

This is a great opportunity.  I.C.E. has had 16 Posse Scholars over the years, but be aware it is very competitive.

If you want to know first-hand what the Posse experience is like, go find Marlyn Cabrera (6th grade Humanities teacher).  Marlyn not only graduated from I.C.E. but she was a Wheaton College Posse Scholar!........I am proud to have been her College Advisor!

I.C.E. students that wish to be considered for nomination please see Jennifer before the Spring Break.

have fun with your college search,

Jennifer
